President Obama Wins Nobel Peace Prize

Friday, October 9th, 2009

I would like to congratulate President Barack Obama for winning the Nobel Peace Prize. But given that I can’t think of anything he has done to deserve it, I will skip the congratulations.

It seems a most preposterous idea to me. What has the man done for Peace? Apologized for America every time he opens his mouth and indicate that he wants a dialogue with dictators like Hugo Chavez who share none of the values our country was founded on.

The Nobel Peace Prize was never awarded to Neville Chamberlain, although it was considered.

Why I Haven’t Been Blogging

My wife and I purchased our first home this summer. For anyone who was wondering, that was the reason for my absence from this blog. It is the most complex, confusing thing we have ever done. But for a mere $150 more than our rent payments, we get an extra bedroom, an extra bathroom and a two car garage. We also have something called a yard, which is provides a nice place to put the grill, but unfortunately has to be mowed at least once a week.

Our new home isn’t exactly what we wanted. If we could have afforded it, my wife and I both would have liked another bedroom. My wife would have liked a larger yard, but since I would be the one to mow it, my desire for a larger yard isn’t as strong as hers. I also would like a larger garage.

But it is so much better than our apartment for just a bit more money. Hopefully I’ll have a bit more time to spend here now that lawn mowing season appears to be over.
